Chief Executive Officer
Ulf Quellmann was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Turquoise Hill Resources on July 30, 2018.
Before this apointment Mr. Quellmann was Vice President, Strategic Projects, Copper and Diamonds at Rio Tinto and also Chief Financial Officer, Copper and Diamonds at Rio Tinto from 2016 to 2018. Prior to this, he was Group Treasurer at Rio Tinto. Before joining Rio Tinto in 2008, Mr. Quellmann had been with Alcan, based in Montreal, and with General Motors in both New York and London.
During his time at Alcan, Mr. Quellmann held a variety of senior finance positions of which the most recent role was that of Vice-President, Investor Relations. At General Motors, Mr. Quellmann spent a few years at the Treasurer’s Office in New York. He also worked at Vauxhall Motors, GM’s United Kingdom subsidiary, for five years in various finance, marketing and general management roles.
Mr. Quellmann holds an MBA from the London Business School and is also a non-executive director on the board of Spectris plc, a public company listed on the London Stock Exchange.
Mr. Quellmann was appointed to the Turquoise Hill Resources board in May, 2017.
Chief Financial Officer
Luke Colton was appointed Chief Financial Officer of Turquoise Hill Resources on October 9, 2017. Mr. Colton has been with Rio Tinto since 2004 and has worked in various business units, including minerals, iron ore and energy. In his most recent role as Richards Bay Chief Financial Officer, he was directly responsible for financial and managerial accounting, business planning, treasury, tax, warehousing and compliance functions as well as a member of the senior leadership team. Prior to joining Rio Tinto, Mr. Colton was Senior Accountant with Ernst & Young.
Chief Operating Officer
Jo-Anne Dudley was appointed Chief Operating Officer of Turquoise Hill Resources on June 3, 2019 bringing more than 25 years of mining industry experience to the Company. Since 2010, she has been a key member of the Oyu Tolgoi technical team that manages the development of the Oyu Tolgoi underground. Most recently she led Oyu Tolgoi’s 30-person Strategic Mine and Resources Planning unit. Prior to commencing her work on Oyu Tolgoi, Ms. Dudley spent five years working with Rio Tinto’s technical group on mines in South Africa and the USA. Before that she worked in underground mines across Australia as an Underground contractor and spent nearly ten years in Operations and Studies roles at the Northparkes copper and gold mine in Australia. Ms. Dudley graduated from the University of New South Wales as a mining engineer in 1994. She holds a New South Wales Below Ground Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency, and a Graduate Certificate in Technology Management.
Dustin S. Isaacs
Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary
Dustin Isaacs was appointed General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Turquoise Hill Resources on January 1, 2013. Mr. Isaacs has 20 years of experience in legal, governance and transactional matters. Prior to joining Turquoise Hill, Mr. Isaacs worked for two years at Rio Tinto holding lead legal roles in various transactional and joint venture projects as well as providing legal, commercial and strategic advice to certain business units. He was previously in private legal practice for close to 10 years as part of the business law group at a top-tier Canadian law firm. Mr. Isaacs holds LL.B. (Common Law), B.C.L. (Civil Law) and B.A. (Honours) degrees from McGill University and has his ICD.D designation.
